Upstate NY Wedding for Maria and Greg
Where do I even begin with this Upstate New York wedding?! I suppose at the beginning. I photographed Greg's sister's wedding in 2018 and then his other sister's wedding in 2024, so when his bride to be, Maria reached out to me about capturing theirs, it was an immediate and obvious, YES! There was truly nowhere I'd rather have been on this day than with this couple and their families.
When we dug into the details of their plans, Maria told me about her beloved church. I'd never seen a Russian Orthodox ceremony prior, but oh, they're all I want to see going forward! It was GORGEOUS! The Fathers who performed the ceremony were so friendly and kind, the candles bring so much of a vibe and the crowns were truly the icing on top!
When I saw Maria arrive at the church, as much as I had to be quiet and not shout about how amazing she looked (HA!) I was DYYYYING because I was quite sure what she was wearing was vintage and indeed it was and O M G, to say I was and still am obsessed is an understatement. I love unique. Like ACTUALLY unique. A dress that nobody else this year or next is likely to have and this was IT. It also suited her perfectly and I'm going to talk forever about how amazing it was!
Lastly, a moment for Greg. We were taking photos in the rain, which lasted all day, with no breaks. They didn't care, AT ALL. We went out with an umbrella and then tossed the umbrella aside. When I was taking photos of Maria alone, I looked at Greg who was next to me watching and I'll never forget the giant smile on his face looking at his new wife. It was a beautiful moment to add to a long list of beautiful moments.
Cheers to these newlyweds, to unique weddings and to so many more happy years together!
