Megan + Shane
How they met: Megan grew up in northern New Jersey and Shane grew up near Virginia Beach. After both Megan and Shane graduated college they moved to northern Virginia for new jobs. After settling into her new life away from family and friends, Megan made a New Years resolution that she was going to go on one date a month. She downloaded Bumble, which she swore she would never do, and quickly connected with Shane. Megan’s date with Shane was the first since setting her resolution, and after their first date at a paint and sip they went on two more that week. After dating for just under a year, Shane accepted a job in Maryland and they continued to date long distance. When Megan finished teaching for that school year she moved to be with Shane in Maryland, and they eventually moved into Baltimore. Shane had planned to propose to Megan in March, but the pandemic hit, everyone went into lockdown, and his plans were put on hold. When life somewhat returned to normal, Shane planned to propose to Megan on her birthday. That day they walked to get some ice cream and Shane proposed in their beautiful neighborhood while their families watched on a zoom call in true COVID fashion.
