Fortune Valley Manor Wedding with Amanda and Billy
This is a wedding that contained a really big lesson and showed off the power of a great vendor team! Rain had been in the forecast all week, but the day before the wedding tornado and severe storms were added to the list of possibilities. The owner and coordinator of Fortune Valley Manor, Kerri, oh I can't say enough good things about her, was ON IT. In my 14 year career, 400+ weddings in, I've never experienced a coordinator/owner literally trying to move mountains for their couple the way I saw Kerri do, which of course inspired every vendor around her to do the same. WE DID IT. The idea was to try to beat the weather, that of course kept changing, so Kerri sent me a text the morning of the wedding asking if I could get there an hour early, even 30 min early, to try to get ahead and get done whatever we could that this couple was hoping for before this weather began. It was an obvious YES, I skipped out on doing my hair (HA!) and jumped in the car. It was the right call. We got SO MUCH done before the rain and funny enough, it didn't even last as long as initially forecasted, so later on, we got even more that we'd been initially hoping for. It was PERFECTION and I can only assume this couple also has the universe on their side because mountains were moved and success was had! So, what was the lesson? Have a STELLAR vendor team, be willing to go more above and beyond than usual, do whatever it takes (safely) to make it happen and you'll get it. The team will be cheering and you'll also end up with great photos and a great story! Cheers to these two, to making things happen, to so many more years together and to never minding a little bit of rain!
